FLOS Table Lamp Snoopy by Achille Castiglioni

1st Edition, Italy 1960s

This iconic table lamp “Snoopy” by the Italian Design brothers Achille and Giacomo Castiglioni is a very rare piece from the 1st Edition from the late 60s. This lamp is made of white Carrara marble with a subtle light grey pattern. The lampshade is in black raw laquered metal and not made of plastic like today. A thick crystal glass disk is on the underside of the shade to diffuse the light. Always thinking of innovation, Achille and Giacomo Castiglioni used an electronic turn dimmer allowing the brightness of the light to be adjusted.

Originally designed in 1967, the Snoopy lamp was famously inspired by the cartoon character of the little white dog Snoopy.
