Sold Space Age White Fibreglass Plush XL Lounge Chairs

Italy 1970s.

Stunning pair of 2 large Space Age lounge chairs in snow white from Italy. The lounge chairs have a fibreglass seat shell framed by a narrow strip of chrome. The seat itself has been reupholstered with a very soft plush. The upholstery is divided into 7 rows and has two round circles facing each other on the left and right side. The chair legs with a very nice curved form are chrome. These two chairs perfectly reflect the cool Space Age design of the 70s which is often characterised by fibreglass as a main component, with soft curvature enabled by the material’s properties. Often comprised of simple shapes and large, bowed lines, Space Age furniture was rife with designs inspired by icons of this era.
