Grey Orbis Sofa Elements by Luigi Colani
Hip three-part lounge set in grey and white designed by Luigi Colani for COR in the 70s. This sofa contains three straight seating elements in an orginal grey velvet upholstery. The upholstery is placed in a white lacquered wooden frame. All three frames have rotatable chrome wheels underneath. The separate elements can placed side by side as well as standalone. All three seats have a large cushion in the same fabric as the seats. For even more convenience!
All three cushions have a zipper and therefore can be easily cleaned.
The career of the German designer Luigi Colani(1928 – 2019) began in the 1950s when he designed cars for companies including Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Volkswagen, and BMW. In the 1960s, he began designing furniture, and as of the 1970s, he expanded in numerous areas, ranging from houshold items to entire kitchen.
His unconventional designs made him famous, not only in design circles, but also to general public. He received numerous design awards. In 2007 the Design Museum in London showed his work in the exhibit Translating Nature.
